Questions people ask
What is CinReco?
CinReco is a free movie and TV recommendation app. You tell it what you're in the mood for in plain English and swipe through suggestions; every like and skip teaches it your taste. It can also merge several people's tastes into one shortlist, so a couple, a family or a group of friends can agree on something to watch.
What is mood search?
Instead of filtering by genre, you type what you want in ordinary language, such as "something dark, gritty and intellectual" or "funny but not stupid". CinReco uses AI semantic search to match the meaning of that description against its movie catalogue and returns titles that fit.
How does group mode work?
Start a group session and invite people by sharing the room code or entering their email address. Everyone swipes, and CinReco combines the group's tastes and a shared vibe into consensus matches, so the pick is chosen for the group as a whole rather than one person's history.
Is CinReco free?
Yes. CinReco is free to use, with no credit card required. There is no paid tier or subscription at this time.
Do I need an account?
Yes. You need a free account with an email address and password, and you confirm your email before you start. Signing up takes under a minute.
Which platforms does CinReco run on?
CinReco runs today as a web app at app.cinreco.com, in any modern browser on desktop or mobile. Native iOS and Android apps are in development and not yet published to any app store.
Is CinReco a streaming service?
No. CinReco does not host or stream any video. It helps you decide what to watch, with trailers, details and a watchlist, and you then watch the title on whichever service you already use.
Where does the movie data come from?
Movie and TV metadata, posters and trailers come from TMDB (The Movie Database). CinReco uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
